FBI: MOST WANTED – After LeCroix | TV Landscape

If you haven’t watched the series and don’t want to be spoiled then skip this. It contains spoilers. If you have watched the show then feel free to continue on.

This season Julian McMahon who plays the honorable, brave, and dashing Special Agent Jesse LeCroix die. It was a sad news for us fans of the show. We have lost many of the original cast but this was the first time we actually have one die.

I do believe that it was a good choice. It will allow us fans to welcome the change without thinking Jesse should come back next season. His story has ended. It was sad but he knew the risks of the job and he has always been the type to put himself on the line for others. He is compassionate and methodic. He uses his knowledge of the human psyche to apprehend the fugitive. He always shows the humanity even in the darkest of situations giving heart to the story.

This was my favorite out of the three FBI franchise. Jesse isn’t just an FBI agent he is a father, friend, and a team leader. He struggles and doesn’t hide it but he controls his emotions enough for him to rationalize. Yes, he is not perfect but he is the epitome of trying to do well. Seeing him profile the fugitive is always enjoyable painting a picture of how this person became this rather than only showing the effects of the fugitives rampage. There were points where you feel the anguish of the characters because they were human.

Losing his character is a tragedy. He had so much to teach especially with Tali now a teenager and facing trauma from her experiences. There was a story here. It sucks but the actor had informed the show he was leaving and they did what they had to do. Writing him off by killing him made the risks real. It allows us to not second guess the new leader of the team.

Special Agent Remy Scott played by Dylan McDermontt. He is also a compassionate character but unlike LeCroix’s calm he is more of a tidal wave. He is a rebel. The bad boy with a cross to bear. He is the opposition to LeCroix and I do think that is the point of him. He is transitioning the team and the story to a different tone. In his stories I have noticed the shift in it’s tone. It’s more action than storytelling with a climax. It’s not terrible but it is different. It’s enjoyable but it’s not the same.

We have only seen a handful of episodes so far so I can’t make a judgement but I noticed the distinct differences after I watched Season 03 Episode 22. I just wished that the interaction of the team was spotlighted. There has been massive changes with the team. Two new members has caused a stir this season but unlike Scott’s which is after losing Jesse there was time for Kristin Gaines to connect. She was portrayed with her family life and earning the respect of her team.

I know Remy is the new leader and they should trust him but seriously no turbulence? No animosity? There was friction between Gaines and Barnes when she first started yet Remy becomes a welcome addition. I don’t want to see a fight but I want to see logical effects of the changes to the team. This is not the same as Clinton Skye being called to another mission or Kenny Crosby being sent home to recuperate this is a new person joining the team and stepping into large shoes. Yes he is doing well on his job but why doesn’t the death of Jesse affect their personal interactions.

What did Hannah feel since she was like a daughter/protegee to Jesse?

How did losing a friend who rooted for her affect Barnes and the idea of dying and leaving her children? Was it that her hesitation to have another child? How does she feel with this new comer coming into her team and taking a position from the friend she loved. And why wasn’t she promoted instead?

There is so much that needs answers. So many possible stories that gives it depth and heart. We don’t need a bad ass leader we need someone we can connect with and commit to following.

Well that’s my thought. If you want to discuss feel free to comment. I’d like to hear from you.

My name is Kiks. I live in the Philippines. I enjoy reading, watching movies and television shows, and playing games with my friends. I also like anime but don’t watch it often anymore. I watch everything from K-drama to Teleserye. I even watch some Lakorn and Telenovelas that you might see some of those discussed here from time to time. As a child I wanted to be a book editor, a mortician or a wrestling referee. Nowadays I preoccupy myself with my dogs and finding a permanent job.
